Steven R. Schechter, N.P., H.H.P., is available for
personal health consultations either over the telephone
or in-person. A health questionnaire will be sent to
be filled out and returned before your appointment.
If you are in a hurry, we can e-mail, fax or overnight
the questionnaire. Dr. Schechter will discuss important
self-help remedies through the therapeutic use of foods,
herbs, supplements and other natural therapies. We
do not sell any health products. Everything will be
available at your local health food store or from deeply
discounted mail order catalogues.
Dr. Schechter is a Naturopath, a licensed Holistic
Health Practitioner, a clinical nutritionist, the author
of a best-selling book on clinical nutrition and medical
herbology. Dr. Schechter is the Director of the Natural
Healing Institute (NHI), a naturopathic college. He
teaches classes at NHI in clinical nutrition, clinical
herbology and many other areas of holistic health.
He has been a regular featured speaker at the largest
health industry trade conventions and consumer health
expos in the U.S. and in the world. He has lectured
at four prominent Universities.
Dr. Schechter authored a best-selling book for 12.5
years entitled Fighting Radiation & Chemical Pollutants
with Foods, Herbs, & Vitamins—Documented
Natural Remedies that Boost Your Immunity & Detoxify.
He has had more than 350 health articles published
in national magazines/journals and on the Medical Advisory
Boards for two nationally prominent health magazines.

To The Earth.
Dr. Schechter has been a paid consultant, products
formulator, researcher and spokesperson for three of
the four largest herb companies in the world, and two
of the three largest supplement companies. He has been
interviewed on radio hundreds of times and on television
many times. He has served as senior medical consultant
and on the Advisory Board for two of the largest health
industry journals.
He began studying naturopathy (natural self-healing),
holistic health and massage therapies while enrolled
in a pre-medicine program at the University of Michigan.
He graduated from the University of Michigan cum laude
with majors both in clinical psychology and comparative
religion. He attended a post-graduate college on comparative
religious mysticism, and post-apprenticed with several
internationally renowned naturopaths and healers (including
Paavo O. Airola, N.D., Ph.D., and John R. Christopher,
N.D., M.H.).
Previously, as Director of “Clinical Nutrition
and Medical Herbology” at a large environmental
illness (E.I.)/medical detox clinic, Dr. Schechter
developed and directed clinical programs for boosting
immunity; detoxifying from chemical pollutants, radiation,
x-rays, tobacco smoke, pharmaceuticals, alcohol, drugs
and other immune stressors; and generating optimal
health and vitality.
Health consultations are $240 per hour and may be
pro-rated for partial hours (for example: 30 minutes
= $120.00). NHI students, graduates, and their families
receive a 50% discount at $120 per hour and may be
pro-rated for partial hours (for example: 20 minutes
= $40). We accept payment by check, cash or credit
card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover – no American Express).
We do not bill. If you choose a telephone consultation
and wish to pay by check, your check must be received
before your appointment. In the event you need to reschedule
your appointment, we require a courtesy call at least
four hours prior to the scheduled appointment time,
otherwise, a $60 fee will be charged.
