Thi s 200 Hour Program trains students to become an
Instructor in Yoga, Somatics and Movement Therapy.
The Program provides training in a flow system grounded
in yoga, plus breath and somatic dance movement. It
is a comprehensive discipline of integrated movements
based on the body’s innate intelligence through
Vinyasa flow yoga and a creative sequencing of the
108 asanas. You will learn the Pattobi Jois sytem of
Ashtanga Vinyasa and understand the differences in
shifting poses, pranayama, and the meditation of stillness.
This method embarks upon the inner experience and exploration
of the senses and how the breath supports movement.
In order to succes sfully graduate from the Program,
students must complete all required 200 hours of training,
they must complete a written and a practical test,
and they are required to cocreate and co-teach a yoga
class - as a teacher’s aid or teaching assi stant
(TA) - under the direction, supervision, and in the
presence of the instructor for guidance, learning,
and evaluation. Students are also required to write
a theme paper about what yoga means to them and to
outline their teaching goals and personal yoga practice
goals. The instructor also takes into account the creative
ambition, professionalism, teaching ability, commitment
to upholding the Yoga Code of Ethics, and the student’s
desire for growth professionally and personally.
Diploma/Certificate of Completion:
Yoga Instuctor, Somatics
and Movement Therapist. Upon completion of the
Program, you will be awarded a diploma/certificate
of completion as a Yoga Instructor, Somatics and Movement
Therapist. You will also qualify to join the Yoga Alliance
as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), which is an optional
additional credential.

The Level I course focuses on therapeutic stretches
for postural alignment, hatha yoga asanas postures,
pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation. Basi
c anatomy & physiology pertaining to yoga, the
chakra system and the nadis (energy channels) will
be discussed and practically applied. Students will
also gain introductory training in somatics, somatic
dance movement, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, and will have the
opportunity to work with partners to give and receive
feedback
Level I I will expand upon the topics presented in
Level I and will also include a more extensive education
in Yoga Philosophy and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali,
giving students a rich understanding of the historical
and philosophical background of Yoga. Students will
also learn about the Yoga Code of Ethics and how to
market themselves as an instructor.
A continuation of YS 105.
A continuation of YS 110.
Students will be expanding and deepening their yoga,
somatics and movement training and practicum. Students
will also begin designing therapeutic yoga and somatics
classes and coteaching as a part of class.
